This is the largest mangrove forest in the world .Total area of sundarban is 10000 sqkm, Bangladesh part is 5800sqKm, indian part is 4200sqKm - land area in Bangladesh is 4100sqKm and water body is 1700sqKm. the sundarban forest tracts extended for about 273.53 Km along the shoreline of the bay of bengal. 330 plant species, 35 species of reptiles,400 types of finfishes, 42 species of mammals and 270 species of birds. the largest poulation of the bengal tigers, spoted deer, wild boar, monkey, monitors lizard, saltwater crocodiles, king cobra, bengal cobra, gignatic dolphin etc. in the forest you can find the huge number of rivers Baleswar, sela, Passur,Shibsa, Malanca, Raimongal,Kobadak etc. you will find the extraordinary natural beauty . the tourist spot on wildlife sanctuary mainly Kotka- Kochikhali, Hironpoint, Manderbaria. sundarban has been declared as world heritage site in 1997 by UNESCO.
from november to april is the best time to tour in sunadarban.
